Presentation:
The director has come up with a remake storyline and while the
presentation was good, the narrative was refreshing. The dialogues were
charged up, the script was written with value and screenplay was prompt.
Background score was good and three songs were there for listening.
Cinematography was worthy. Editing was regular. Costumes were trendy and
stylish while the art department was suiting the moods. Vijay has come
up with an unassuming performance and steals the show. Ileana was sexy
and gives the required glamour dose. Srikanth fits the bill and does his
bit while Jiiva was another competent performer. Sathyaraj displays
shades of Boman Irani in a big way. Sathyan was there for the laughs. S J
Suryah, Anuya Bhagavath made their presence felt.
Conclusion:
The film happens to be the remake of the Bollywood blockbuster ‘3
Idiots’ and the dubbed version of the Tamil film Nanban. Despite its
familiarity, there is a freshness in the treatment of the script. While
the first half goes about in the light hearted manner, it is the second
half that gets emotional and with the required sentiment. Of course,
those who have seen the original may not find anything different but
this sure live up to the expectations of the remake. Though there is not
much to talk about nativity, the box office looks promising for average
to above average collections.
